Capture the Flag

18 06 2008

We have issued our challenge to Cornerstone to play Capture the Flag and we are playing on 2:00 pm Sunday, June 22. Unfortunately, they outnumber us about 3:1 so we have to recruit urgently! Also we have to make an awesome flag. I tried to call Chuck Norris to take on Karl, but I accidentally called Karl instead. Kinda fishy they have the same phone number, don’t you think?

Anybody else bringing a horse?

Was anybody else planning on bringing a horse?

Beginning our Revelations Study

18 06 2008

The following weeks in which we are beginning our Revelations will be a little bit hectic due to scheduling conflicts, so this is how it will go down:

We will begin our Revelations Study on Sunday, June 22. The following Saturday (June 28), we will be meeting at the Starbucks on Imperial and Kraemer between 7:00-8:00 pm to continue it. Be sure to bring money if you want to buy a drink. On Sunday, June 29 there will no study and on Wednesday, July 2 we will have a substitute as Amanda will be out of town.

Purple Ark

18 06 2008

For anyone who is interested, we will be meeting at the church at 9:00 am on Saturday, June 21 to help feed homeless people. This activity is planned by Danny Smith, so further questions should be directed at him.

Lock-In

10 06 2008

We have a confirmed time for our lock-in. It is going to start on 7:30 pm on Thursday and end on noon the next day (Friday).

Youth Benefit Concert for SSP

25 05 2008

On Friday, May 23, the group put on a benefit concert. The concert featured performers from the youth group as well as performers from Fullerton Junior College. The performances were excellent and we had left over fundraiser chocolate for concessions. The event was a huge success raising $964.75 for our missions trip. We greatly thank all of those who supported us by buying tickets and concessions.

Program after the jump…

Boxes of Text

8 05 2008

If you look on the sidebar, you’ll see that we can post text there. I was thinking that we could have some updatable “verse of the week” or “quote of the week” (or some kind of combination of the two). I was just thinking we need more Jesus in our blog. Suggestions below?
I’ll put something there for now.

Instructions to Set Up an Account on WordPress

23 04 2008

I created several other email accounts and tested what exactly needed to be done to just create an account and not a blog. It was surprisingly more difficult than I thought, since they throw so many options at you, but here is what is needed to be done:

1)      Click the link on the invitation email and fill in your username (anything you want), password (try using letters AND numbers to make it secure), and email

2)      Select “Just a Username please!” and hit next to continue

3)     You will be sent another email, activate your account by clicking the link

4)   Your account is created, go to your options and fill in your name and nickname, and set it so that you are publicly known by your first name last initial (ex: JasonM)

You can also set an avatar and etc. Just go ahead and play with the options.

Problems Registering?

22 04 2008

OK, its confirmed that the emails didn’t go out correctly. No one is actually being registered for the blog when they sign up, so i’m going to try to resend the emails. It was a really boneheaded mistake. Somehow it still worked for Blair, so I think I did it correctly for her only. This is a big headache.

Should We Have a Forum?

19 04 2008

I remember someone suggesting that we should have a forum, so after 5 minutes I came up with this.

I personally don’t think that we really need one, but if everyone else thinks that it is a good idea, I’ll go through it and completely set it up. Otherwise, if it remains unused, I will probably delete it.

Blog Almost Ready

13 04 2008

I think this blog is pretty much set up, but I need everyone’s email addresses to invite them to join.

Remember, when signing up, you can choose any user name, but you need to go to “Your Profile” under “users” and set your nickname as your first name and last initial (ex: JasonM) and put in your real first name as your first name and your last name as your last initial. Save it and set your account to be publically known as your first name last initial.

You can also set an avatar (a picture that will appear beside your name) in the “Your Profile” option.

I will need 1-2 editors to help run the blog, and Matthew has already asked to be one of them. If anyone else is interested, email me or talk to me at a meeting.
